Harvest the goodness
It's that time of year again. The morning air has definitely gotten cooler, the sun rises passing 7am, no more air conditioning in the house, pumpkin sellers everywhere, Halloween candies are out in the stores. I can tell the autumn has arrived even in this all-year-long warm city.
This autumn will feel little more special to my husband and me because of our big harvest (more credits to my husband to be honest;)). We decided to plant Korean sweet potatoes in our garden earlier this year, mainly for me. Korean or Asian sweet potatoes look similar with yams but they taste much sweeter and very flavorful. Grown up in Korea, yams can never replace sweet potatoes for me;)
As this planting was our very first trial for Korean sweet potatoes, we had no idea how this will turn out, and voila!

We were so shocked to see how big and how many they are. We already oven baked a few and they turned out very satisfyingly.
Interestingly when I saw this harvest, I thought about my work and clients. When you do Pilates or participate in any health programs, there are moments that you feel you are progressing so slowly and stuck while you wish to be able to perform those movements fluidly or see the physical results of your diet sooner. But as our sweet potato harvest reminded me, things take time and effort for the goodness. Even for our harvest, it was the results of time, regular watering, trimming, and spreading plant nutrition.
